IS THIS YOUR LIFE?

As the above ad points out, why spend your life waiting at bus stops, when ‘it could so easily be this?’

Even the bus in the picture is advertising the Raleigh Moped.

1966 Raleigh Runabout RM6

V5C.

I bought this charming little Raleigh from a friend in 2005  because I had fond memories of owning one in the early seventies (though not such fond memories of frequently breaking down on it during my 17 mile commute through the Devon countryside).

This one is not in concours condition. But it’s excellent for an original unrestored example.

It starts easily and runs well. The leg-shields give it more of a scooter appearance.

I sold over 100 motorcycles, scooters and mopeds between 2002 and 2012, and many more than that when I had a garage in the 1980s. I still own this one.

Here are a few more adverts from Power & Pedal magazine.

Actually they are for the earlier RM4 Raleigh moped, but I like the period scenes.
